Zaynab Al-Khawaja, the daughter of prominent Bahraini human rights activist and political prisoner Abdulhadi Al-Khawaja, published a recent article describing the treatment and torture her father has received at the hands of Bahraini authorities for the past ten years. She shows how the regime tries to ensure that prisoners’ trauma continues long after their prison sentence.
