Strengthening Democratic Leadership

The next generation of democratic leadership plays a crucial role in sustaining and advancing democracy.  The World Movement believes in the importance of inter-generational dialogue and facilitates exchange of ideas and experiences between seasoned leaders and emerging leaders.

Through our Hurford Youth Fellowship,  we empower young activists by helping deepen their understanding of challenges of democracy and linking them with leaders of various democracy movements.

A New Chilean Constitution Built By All

As Chileans began a new constitutional process in early 2020, nine Chilean civil society networks formed “Ahoras Nos Toca Participar” (It’s Our Turn to Participate) as a way to ensure marginalized group are properly represented in the drafting of Chile’s new constitution.

Breaking Barriers for Young Women in West Africa

From March 13-14, 2019, the Gender Center for Empowering Development (GenCED) kicked off the “Breaking Barriers” campaign — a program designed to inspire young women to overcome social barriers and participate in politics. This event was hosted in partnership with the World Movement for Democracy.
