Stanford University’s Larry Diamond to Host a Leaders’ Forum at the 11th Global Assembly in Taiwan
Larry Diamond, founding editor of the Journal of Democracy, will host a panel of political and civil society leaders to discuss challenges and strategies for achieving a strong democratic future. The discussion will feature Venezuela’s opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, Lithuanian MP Žygimantas Pavilionis, Cuban human rights activist Rosa Maria Paya, and Taiwan’s leading diplomat Bi-Khim Hsiao. Through the discussion, these leaders will explore how their visions of democracy in their respective communities converge and what challenges they anticipate in working towards a more accountable and responsive government.
