Despite coming from diverse backgrounds Danieal Chacón Arias from Ecuador, and Mensur Seferovic from Boznia-Herzegovina share a passion for working in local government to build more inclusive communities. In this #CrossoverInitiative conversation, Daniela and Mensur share how their desire to create change in their communities led them to transition from civil society into local government where they have led innovative initiatives to make democracy deliver.

Daniela Chacón Arias is a former city councilor and vice mayor in Quito, Ecuador. She currently serves as the Executive Director of TANDEM Foundation. Mensur Seferovic is a municipal councilor in Sanski Most, Bosnia-Herzegovina. He has served in this role for over 10 years and is the president of his political party’s municipal board.
