Report on the Use of Spyware by Governments to Undermine Press Freedom

The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) recently published joint research on spyware and its use by governments to target journalists, their sources, and even their families. With the help of global security and human rights leaders like our Steering Committee member Ron Deibert, founder of Citizen Lab, CPJ has been able to map dozens of spyware attacks against journalists since 2011 and show how the use of spyware is a serious and increasing threat to press freedom around the world.
