On May 24, the International Center for Not-For-Profit Law (ICNL) and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) will be hosting the online event “A Global Conversation on Emergency Powers, Fundamental Freedoms, and the Way Forward after the Pandemic,” for a discussion with experts in government, international organizations, and civil society. The event will feature speakers like Nicholas Opiyo, a World Movement Steering Committee member and the Executive Director of Chapter Four Uganda, to discuss how to end emergency measures and revitalize civil society as states recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
