The LGBT Pride Rally in Tbilisi, Georgia on July 5, 2021 was disrupted by the far-right organization Alt-Info whose leaders allegedly called on its members to attend the rally and incite violence. The Democracy Research Institute (DRI) reported that on April 4, 2022 the Tbilisi city court found the organizers of the far-right group guilty of participating in organized gang crime, yet the Georgian Prosecutors Office has not launched criminal proceedings against them. Nearly a year after the rally, the DRI calls on the prosecutor’s office to immediately launch such proceedings to bring the perpetrators of this violence against the LGBT community in Tbilisi to justice.
