CIPE and FEDN’s Event on Economic Informality

The Center for Private Enterprise (CIPE) and the Free Enterprise and Democracy Network (FEDN) held a joint virtual event, “Economic Informality – Crisis, Recovery, and Collective Action,” on April 6 to discuss the informal economic sector, in which enterprises operate while not being licensed, taxed, or regulated, and how it has been impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. The discussion, moderated by Kim Eric Bettcher, investigated ways to mitigate the struggles that people working in the informal sector are having because of the pandemic, and strategies to increase opportunities for such people as countries emerge from the COVID-19 crisis.
