In a new piece from AccessNow, the victims of the NSO Group’s WhatsApp hack have come forward with their stories to highlight how their governments’ use of the group’s spyware infringed on their human rights and the consequences they’ve endured due to the surveillance. The targeted civil society activists shared how, with Citizen Lab’s help, they learned their devices were infected by the Pegasus spyware, and the lasting impacts these hacks have had on their professional and personal lives.
