World Movement Participant Intigam Aliyev (Azerbaijan) Receives Homo Homini Award

On March 4, Azerbaijani human rights lawyer and World Movement participant Intigam Aliyev will receive People in Need’s annual Homo Homini award for 2012. Aliyev has presented hundreds of legal cases to the European Court of Human Rights, and “has succeeded in a number of cases concerning voting rights, freedom of assembly, freedom of speech and the right to a fair trial.” PIN recognizes Mr. Aliyev for his “personal courage and exceptional commitment to defending persecuted individuals.” Read more here
