Solidarity Center has published a summary of UN Special Rapporteur Clement Voule’s report “Celebrating Women in Civil Society and Activism.” The report found that women who can freely assemble are “drivers of positive change worldwide,” however governments and employers are consistently violating their fundamental rights to peaceful assembly. The Solidarity Center highlights Mr. Voule’s emphasis on ensuring women’s ability to assemble and form organizations like labor unions will continue to advance women’s rights and gender equality.
