In 2017, women from over 85 countries shared their stories of how sexual harassment has affected them through the hashtag #MeToo, and the topic of sexual harassment in the workplace has continued to garner unprecedented attention. Since 2000, Pakistani activist Fouzia Saeed, who formed the Alliance Against Sexual Harassment at Workplace (AASHA), has been a pioneer in bringing the topic of sexual harassment to the forefront of Pakistan’s public debate. Working with hundreds of others, she successfully led the passage of groundbreaking legislation to support women’s rights in Pakistan.
