The Free Enterprise & Democracy Network Solicits Public Comments on Ways to Combat the Causes of Populism

December 8, 2020

The Center for International Private Enterprise’s (CIPE) Free Enterprise & Democracy Network (FEDN) wants to know your thoughts and ideas on monthly questions related to democracy and free enterprise. This month’s question comes from a Foreign Affairs article written by political scientist Daron Acemoglu, where he states, “populist movements thrive on inequality and on resentment of elites.” FEDN asks:

How can democracy and free market advocates reimagine these mutually reinforcing pillars to resolve the tensions fueling populism?
