The International Forum for Democratic Studies released its latest installment of Democracy Ideas, an interview series with leading thinkers on democracy. In this interview, Francis Fukuyama discusses his article “Democracy and the Quality of the State,” published in the Journal of Democracy. He talks about the factors that enable states to be responsive, deliver services to its citizens and achieve good governance. Previous interviews in the series have included Steven Heydemann, Moises Naim, and Sami Atallah.
