President Obama: Stand With Civil Society in Ethiopia and Kenya

The World Movement for Democracy, Front Line Defenders, Open Society Foundations, and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights, along with 47 other global, regional, and local NGOs, sent a joint letter to President Obama, urging him to meet publicly with the pro-democracy and human rights activists during his upcoming trip to sub-Saharan Africa from July 23 to 29, especially those from Ethiopia and Kenya.

“We believe it is imperative that you take the opportunity of your visit to meet publicly with pro-democracy and human rights activists, especially those at risk.”
