New Resource: A How-To Guide for Anti-Corruption Campaigns

The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) and the National Democratic Institute (NDI) recently released a new guide for civil society groups, anti-corruption institutions, campaigners, practitioners, and donors, to develop more effective anti-corruption campaigns. Anti-corruption messages often struggle to change how people think about corruption because it tends to be an issue that people already have strong feelings about. Sometimes messages present issues of corruption in a way that they seem too big to solve. A key to successful anti-corruption campaigning is to follow the “3 Ts”: tailor, target, and test. Drawing lessons learned from anti-corruption campaigns around the world, this guide unpacks the major challenges that campaigners face when drafting anti-corruption messaging, providing concrete tactics to tailor, target and test their messages.
