IWDN Launches Website
On March 8, International Women’s Day, the International Women’s Democracy Network (IWDN), a functional network of World Movement for Democracy, launched its new website and online resource center featuring a user-friendly structure for quick access to regional resources and priority issues, space for discussions and comments, and links to join its mailing list and to connect to its new social networking pages on Facebook and Twitter. IWDN supports women’s roles and agency in the development of democratic practices and institutions at community, national, and international levels. Women’s participation is critical for positive social transformation and women’s empowerment is essential for forming stable, sustainable democracies. The Women’s Learning Partnership serves as the International Women’s Democracy Network (IWDN)’s Secretariat.
