Join International IDEA on September 17 for the global launch of their upcoming report “The Global State of Democracy 2024: Strengthening the Legitimacy of Elections in a Time of Radical Uncertainty.” Amid an unprecedented election year, this report provides an overview of global trends, including voters’ dissatisfaction. It is supplemented by a policy paper that explores how to strengthen public perceptions of electoral integrity. This paper includes a new data set on disputed elections and concludes with recommendations aimed at protecting public faith in the legitimacy of electoral processes. The launch event will feature a panel discussion, moderated by Dr. Massimo Tommasoli, Director of Global Programs at International IDEA, featuring Dr. Inés M. Pousadela, CIVICUS’s Senior Research Specialist, and Australian Electoral Commissioner, Mr. Tom Rogers.
