Gender Centre for Empowering Development (GenCED) Wins the 20 for 20 Solidarity Award
Congratulations! The Gender Center for Empowerment Development (GenCED), an organization that promotes women and youth empowerment for sustainable development in West Africa, is the winner of the Women’s Political Rights Award as part of the Maputo Protocol 20 for 20 Solidarity Awards. These awards recognize and celebrate the efforts of civil society organizations working to advance women’s and girls’ rights in Africa. GenCED has been leading advocacy efforts for the adoption, ratification, and implementation of the Maputo Protocol in Ghana. Through their African young woman political leadership school, GenCED helps young women prepare for running for office in seven countries in the region.
