EFHR Report Reveals the Magnitude of Cases Against Political Prisoners in Egypt in 2020

The Egyptian Front for Human Rights published a new report detailing Egypt’s deteriorating human rights situation by examining the criminal cases and treatment brought against political prisoners in 2020. “366 Days of Violations” outlines cases of political prisoners that have been unlawfully detained, tortured, and stripped of their right to legal representation. This report also illustrates the government’s use of frequent, arbitrary detention for political prisoners and the use of a “recycling” policy, where defendants are re-imprisoned upon their initial release for other pending cases.
