The European Center for Not-For-Profit Law (ECNL) has published a new factsheet showing how online protests and digital-mediated assemblies are protected by international standards. ECNL emphasizes the influence that the UN Human Rights Committee’s General Comment 37 has had in expanding the protections for civil society’s right to peaceful assembly by including online gatherings in virtual spaces within the protections covered by the General Comment.
