The Bahrain Center for Human Rights (BCHR) and the Gulf Center for Human Rights (GCHR) issued an urgent appeal regarding imprisoned human rights defender Nabeel Rajab whose current whereabouts are unknown. According to the appeal, Rajab witnessed prison guards torturing young political activists. When the guards realized they were seen by Rajab they stopped torturing the prisoners but later removed him from his cell and have not informed his family or his lawyer of his current location. The World Movement for Democracy stands in solidarity with Nabeel Rajab and joins the BCHR and GCHR in demanding that his family be immediately informed of his whereabouts. Read our alert.
