On December 6, Casla Institute, a civil society organization advocating for the protection of human rights in Latin America, hosted an artistic presentation at the Palace du Luxembourg in Brussels, to raise awareness on the situation of political prisoners around the world. As part of their #ReleaseChains campaign, Casla Institute brought family members and sponsors – prominent public figures, including members of the European Parliament and renowned artists, who use their platforms to advocate for the release of political prisoners – to speak about specific cases of political prisoners in Bolivia, Cuba, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. The messages addressed to those imprisoned were of solidarity, reaffirming that “they are not alone”, and emphasizing that there will always be voices advocating for their freedom.
