Burma Blocks Observers such as PACE from Monitoring Upcoming National Election

As part of a pattern by Burma’s government to reduce the independent monitoring of its elections, the country’s Union Election Commission (UEC) has moved to prevent the People’s Alliance for Credible Elections (PACE) from monitoring the November 2020 election, despite the group’s history of fielding thousands of election monitors there. Over 451 Burmese organizations have signed a statement protesting this decision.
