World Movement participant, Rafael Marques de Morais (Angola), was recently recognized for his work on exposing corruption. On November 8, 2013, Rafael received the 2013 Transparency International Integrity Award, an honor given to individuals or organizations that “are a source of inspiration to the anti-corruption movement because their actions echo a common message: that corruption can be challenged.” The World Movement for Democracy issued an alert for Rafael on June 6, after he was indicted on charges of defamation.
