Robert Hårdh is the executive director of Civil Rights Defenders, a nonprofit organization promoting political and civil rights, as well as providing support for human rights defenders at risk. Hårdh is a member of the Advisory Council to the Committee for Human Rights in North Korea. He is also a board member of the Expo Foundation, one of the leading organisations in Europe studying and mapping anti-democratic, right-wing extremist, and racist tendencies in society.

Previously, he was a member of Amnesty International Lawyers Group, and he served as a board member in the organisation’s Swedish section until 2000.
