DefendDefenders recently published its biannual report on the status of human rights and freedoms in countries within the East and Horn of Africa region to the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR). In addition to reviewing the most pressing human rights issues and attacks on freedoms, the report also provided the ACHPR with recommendations on how to protect the region’s civic space amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
