The European Center for Not-for-Profit Law released a publication highlighting the impact of facial recognition technologies (FRT) on peaceful assemblies. The use of FRT in public spaces can pose risks to the participants of peaceful gatherings, including the violation of one’s right to privacy and the risk of false identification, and therefore international safeguards are needed for the use and development of these technologies.
