World Movement for Democracy participants from the Latin American and Carribean Democracy Network (Redlad) and the #SetThemFree Campaign, including the #SetThemFree Ambassador and #SetThemFree music video duo, will attend CIVICUS’ International Civil Society Week 2016 and multiple activities in Bogota throughout the week. The World Movement is partnering with Redlad to organize multiple sessions on strengthening CSO advocacy, including “From Art to Action,” “Civic Society Role in Transitions: Some Lessons for Cuba,” and “Civic Society Participation in Multilateral Scenarios.” The World Movement and Civic Space Initiative (CSI) partners, including the International Center for Not-for-Profit Law, CIVICUS, and Article 19, will convene a workshop on civil society strategies to defend their rights to protest and translate advocacy into political change.

Under the theme of “Active Citizens, Accountable Actions,” CIVICUS and the Confederación Colombiana de ONG (CCONG) are inviting civil society to a global gathering of inspired thinkers, innovation leaders, and influential organizations, which seek to engage constructively in finding common solutions to global challenges. #ICSW2016 will be held in Bogotá, Colombia from April 25 – 28.
