The deadline for nominations for the Human Rights Defenders Shield Awards is July 31st. The awards honor outstanding individuals and organizations who peacefully advocate for fundamental rights, and are provided by the Pan-African Human Rights Defenders Network (PAHRDN), a network of African sub-regional organizations dedicated to the promotion and protection of the continent’s human rights defenders. Submissions can be made in Arabic, French, English or Portuguese.
